Djiboutian franc

 

The Djiboutian franc  is the currency of Djibouti.
Its currency code is DJF.
Historically, it was subdivided into 100 centimes.

From 1908, francs circulating in Djibouti were legally fixed at the value of the French franc. 





Between 1920 and 1922, the Chamber of Commerce issued tokens struck in zinc, aluminium, bronze   in denominations of 5, 10, 25 and 50 centimes and 1 franc.
Shapes are round, hexagonal and octagonal.

5 Centimes are made out of Aluminium – 0.85 g – ø 19.5 mm

10 Centimes  - Zinc – 2.42 g – ø 23.69 mm

25 Centimes - Aluminium – 1.45 g – ø 24 mm

50 Centimes - Bronze – 4.20 g – ø 21.00 mm
